Buddleia

Buddleia is an arts organisation that commissions art in the public space. The new identity uses a rich shade of lilac contrasted with a deep grey to reference the organisations role in rejuvenating urban locations.

The name Buddleia refers to the wild plant that grows in any urban and run down environment but still attracts butterflies. It's an analogy of organic beauty taking root in even the most inhospitable of places, much like the aspiration of engaging artists in urban and regeneration settings.

The identity is focused around a custom typeface that we created especially for the job, the bold letterforms and added flourishes giving the logo an ornate and creative element that is reflective of Buddleias ethos.
