Self-Initiated Projects

Here are some of the artist-led projects we have initiated and delivered as a collective since 2002. They focus on our key areas of theoretical exploration:

New Urban Environment. We are interested in artist-led grassroots sustainability initiatives. New Urban Environmentalism builds in the real world from underused local resources, harnessing new networks of social solidarity created in (amongst other places) the online world.

Open Cities. Taking control of the city as a canvas for work that challenges enclosure, liberating urban space from neo-liberal control. Many of our projects contain an element of the outdoors, where we are particularly focused on engaging non-gallery going audiences by 'disclosing' underused space. We are interested in connecting the rural with the urban, turning streets into classrooms, providing free food and critically challenging 'public' identities.
